Celebrating Pride Month by Giving Back: Supporting Zebra Youth in Orlando

This spring, Kentik employees came together for a company-wide donation drive to support Zebra Youth, an Orlando-based nonprofit that serves LGBTQ+ youth in crisis. With employee contributions matched by Kentik, we doubled our impact, donating $2,400 in essential items, all delivered to Zebra Youth in June to celebrate Pride with purpose.
At Kentik, one of our core values is teamwork, and it’s something we strive to bring to life in meaningful ways. Whenever possible, we use our company gatherings as an opportunity to give back to the communities that host us. It’s a tradition we’re proud of, and one we aim to continue as we grow.
When we gathered in Orlando this past March, we had the opportunity to support an incredible local nonprofit, Zebra Youth, which provides life-saving services to LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness or facing serious challenges.
And now, during Pride Month, we’re excited to celebrate and share what we’ve been able to accomplish together.
How we took action
To show our support, the Kentik team came together to organize an Amazon wish list drive, gathering essential items such as snacks, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, and mental health care support materials. These are everyday basics that make a huge difference in the lives of the youth Zebra Youth supports.
The response from our team was incredible. Our employees donated nearly $1,200 of wishlist items. After Kentik’s match, our collective contribution doubled, providing over $2,400 in support for the essential work of Zebra Youth.
Delivery day
To mark Pride Month, we wrapped up the drive and recently dropped off the donations in person. The Zebra Youth team was deeply appreciative. They shared how impactful this support will be – and asked us to pass along a big thank-you to everyone who contributed! It was a reminder that small acts, when done together, can create something powerful.
