Ulevitch’s Expertise in Cloud Network Services Behind Key Appointment
SAN FRANCISCO – April 12, 2016 – Kentik, the leading cloud-based provider of big-data network visibility, announced the appointment of David Ulevitch to its board of directors.
Ulevitch is currently a Vice President at Cisco in the Security Business Group. David joined Cisco via the August, 2015 acquisition of OpenDNS, which he founded and led as CEO. An industry-leading expert on Internet Security, David previously founded EveryDNS, which was acquired by Dyn, Inc. in 2010. In addition, he has been a key adviser to many Silicon Valley startups.
“We are delighted to have David Ulevitch join our board of directors,” said Avi Freedman, Kentik CEO. “David brings a unique blend of recent SaaS scaling expertise and deep understanding of today’s challenging networking and security environment. We are looking forward to David’s advice and guidance as we rapidly expand Kentik’s services, customers, and operations.”
“I have known the Kentik team since before the company launched, and OpenDNS was one of first adopters of Kentik’s network visibility service. I look forward to bringing both operational experience and a customer perspective to my work with the board and the company”, said Ulevich. “Kentik has the terrific combination of best-in-class technology, a ripe market opportunity, and an experienced and customer-focused management team. I’m excited to work with Kentik’s board and management team to help them achieve their aggressive product and growth goals.”
Kentik launched on June 30th, 2015, and has since released the industry’s first SaaS-based BGP peering analysis solution. Since launch, Kentik has experienced 6x growth in paying customers, with representation from global ISP, Carrier, CDN, SaaS, and Web Enterprise companies.
